What Verified Means

Labels on NextCommitHQ Network are only useful if everyone knows exactly what they mean. This page defines each one.
1. Organization verification
An organization can show one of three states:
- Pending. The person who created the organization claimed to be authorized to act for it. Nothing has been checked. This is the default for every new organization.
- Verified. A platform administrator recorded a specific check, with a note saying what was checked and when. The note is shown with the label, for example "Confirmed program director by phone against the number on the program's public site, 2026-09-05." The label means exactly what the note says and nothing more.
- Rejected. An administrator could not confirm the claim, or found it false. The organization cannot publish openings or send introductions while rejected.
Verification is about the claim of authority to represent the organization. It is not a statement about the organization's safety practices, financial standing, insurance, affiliation with any governing body, or the quality of its program. It does not extend to any coach the organization engages.
2. Email verification
A verified email means the sign-in provider confirmed that the person controls the address. It is required before a person can send introductions. It says nothing about who the person is.
3. Coach profiles
Every field on a coach profile is self-reported and labeled that way unless a specific item carries a verified label. Today the Network does not verify any coach field: not identity, experience, credentials, certifications, background screening, or eligibility to work with youth. If we add credential verification in the future, the label will say what was checked, by whom, and when, in the same way organization verification does.
Availability freshness is different from verification. "Confirmed 3 days ago" means the coach confirmed their availability on that date; after 14 days the profile is marked as needing reconfirmation.
4. Chalkboard scenarios and findings
- Practice-only on a scenario means no experienced reviewer has approved it. Responses to practice-only scenarios are for the coach's own practice.
- Approved on a scenario means a platform administrator recorded that an experienced reviewer approved that version of the scenario for assessment use, with the reviewer's name and date.
- Reviewer findings on a response are an organization's opinion, tied to quoted excerpts from the response. They are not a score, grade, certification, or a statement by NextCommitHQ.
5. Fit
A fit comparison is a structured, deterministic comparison of what an opening says it needs with what a coach entered. Each reason cites its source and the version of the rules used. "Unknown" means the information was not provided, not that it matches. Fit is not a recommendation, prediction, or endorsement.
6. Demo data
Fixtures labeled Demo data are fictional and exist only to show how the Network works. They are removed before real users are onboarded to a production environment.
7. Reporting a wrong label
If a label is wrong, misleading, or out of date, email legal@nextcommithq.com with the page link. Verification records are audited, and we will correct or remove a label that no longer reflects what was checked.
